January 2009

Wow, its almost March and I'm just now posting January! Yikes. I might make a couple of entries to make this easier to follow....we'll see how it all pans out!

In January, over MLK weekend, Mark, Chase and I ventured to Little Rock. I had a 3-day weekend and it happened to be the anniversary of Cameron Bobbitt's 'Heaven Day', so I wanted to get to LR and celebrate her life with Susan and family. They weren't able to get to LR till Saturday afternoon, so we spent Friday at mom's house and Saturday we did a little 'shopping' and then went to dinner with some of my friends from college. It turned out that they gave me a nice surprise baby shower! Wow, what a treat. Below are a few pictures...of course, I had to include Chase in on the 'girl fun'!

Chase and Maddy McGinnis Chase and cake-his fav food Mady, Stacy McGinnis, Tanya Ford and Me

MB Benafield, Kelly Thomas, Laura Mansfield...yummy cake!

The next day was a beautiful day and Susan's dad delivered a wonderful memorial ceremony message about Hope. I've attached a picture of Cameron's gravesite as well as a picture of Susan, Derrick and their 3 kids....Carington, Kennedy and Brooklyn. Su's dad is included also. At the end of the ceremony, we let 36 baloons go into the sky to find their way to heaven. It was really a beautiful sight...as sad as it was!

That evening they had a party at Darren and Jennifer's and it was a nice showing of people sharing their condolences as well as celebrating time together with friends and family. On Monday, I was able to go with them to their first stop to deliver books to the Allergy clinic. I believe they made 2-3 more stops after that, but we had to get back to Franklin. All in all is was a great weekend and it was nice to connect with everyone!
Because its been so long, I can't remember what else we did in January! Obviously nothing significant compared to these events! I'll end this for now, then create a post for February!
Love to all.....thanks for reading!
Carrie
