morning check up!

Well, we finally got to get in to see her this morning about 11. They admitted a new baby today, so it took forever and we can't get in while they're doing that!

She's looking and sounding great. We got to feed her with a bottle. It was only 10mL, but better than nothing. She loved it! She gobbled it up and sucked really good. They said if she keeps this down, they'll increase the food later today.

She's still on oxygen (40%), but doing well. not grunting. When she gets upset is when she needs more oxygen. The blood work is still showing negative for any infections, so that is good. If it shows that way tomorrow, they'll take her off the antibiotics tomorrow. Her stomach was a little distended (?) this morning, so they did an x-ray and everything looks fine. Her lungs are showing a little bit of 'prematurity' in the x-rays, so they don't want to ween her off the oxygen too quickly.

Starting to get a little jaundice. Her bilirubin increased from 4.3 to 7.1 from yesterday to today (I think that is the time frame). Its not high enough to go under a heat lamp yet, but if it keeps rising at next check, then she'll likely go under the lamp.

Still don't know when she's coming home. Definitely not today, doesn't look like tomorrow either. Hopefully by Wednesday?!?! ARGH, its aggravating not knowing, but she's doing good here, so I'm sure this is the best place for her. Below are some pics from this morning. We didn't have the camera when we fed via bottle, but this is her afterwards holding my finger...and her paci! :)

love to all!
